Toyota Tundra Pulls Space Shuttle Endeavour Across Manchester Bridge

Toyota is proud to announce that its very own Toyota Tundra half-ton pickup truck, without any special modifications, successfully towed the 150,00 lb space shuttle Endeavour across the Manchester Bridge in California.
The model selected was a stock 2013 Tundra CrewMax 4X4 with Toyota's 5.7L iForce V8, which produces 381 horsepower. There were no modifications or special equipment done to the truck for the tow. It is the same truck you will find on the West Coast Toyota lot today. Talk about a truck that can perform.
The Tundra was driven by long-time Toyota professional driver Matt McBride. Riding in the cabin with him was Garrett Reisman, one of the astronauts aboard the orbiter when it travelled to the International Space Station in 2008. From one end of the bridge to the other, it took 5 minutes to cross.
You can enjoy this piece of history at the California Science Center when the Endeavour exhibit opens on Oct. 30,2012.
